Dr. Kelly began his collegiate career at Brigham Young University, and he went on to graduate from the Oregon Health Science University School of Dentistry. While in dental school, he was awarded the Air Force Health Profession Scholarship. He took elective courses to be introduced to CEREC dentistry as well as an advanced course for endodontics. This led him to participate in an internship for removable prosthodontics (dentures) with the VA in Portland. Following graduation, he was assigned to work with the Air Force in a remote dental clinic in Clovis, New Mexico at Cannon AFB.
While in the Air Force as an active-duty dentist, Dr. Kelly took a two-week long course in CEREC dentistry as well as a three-week long course in oral surgery to improve his ability to perform wisdom teeth removal, atraumatic extractions, and bone/tissue grafting. Finally, he spent two weeks at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs for focused training on sedation dentistry.
After leaving active duty, Dr. Kelly elected to continue his service with the military by staying in the Air Force Reserves and has been assigned to a unit at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
Dr. Kelly has a passion for continuing education and has kept up his efforts since leaving the Air Force. He has completed a MAXI implant dentistry course associated with the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC, and worked hard to achieve mentor status within the CDOCS curriculum.
Dr. Kelly has hundreds of hours of continuing education within the SPEAR dentistry curriculum as well. He has been trained in Invisalign and SureSmile clear aligner therapy and also invested in several myofunctional therapy courses to be more comprehensive in his approach to correcting malocclusion (misaligned bites).
On top of all this, he is an active member of the American Dental Association, Washington State Dental Association, and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He also serves as the county delegate to the state board as part of the Washington State Dental Association.
